The Cost of Chronic Pain, Depression and Anxiety in the Workplace

Hosted by: Chaitali Sinha | Head of Clinical Development & Research at Wysa

We’re excited to announce our new clinical research webinar series, Evidencing the Evolution of Mental Health.  Our aim is to bring affordable, scalable mental health to all through digital therapeutics. Over the last year, we have completed clinical research studies with esteemed organizations such as Harvard Medical School, Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis, Travelers, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital, NHS, and more to validate important trends in mental health to bring impactful, patient-centric change to the industry. This webinar series will dive into each study and its findings. We will share what patient discoveries in the workplace mean to employers looking to improve mental resilience in their workforce, and share new ways to reduce the burden of mental health on employers through absenteeism, low productivity, and escalating medical claims. Industry leaders will discuss how to improve benefits programs at organizations for operational excellence, with employee well-being at the forefront of each enhancement.

The economic burden of chronic pain is huge, costing the United States an estimated $560 to $635 billion yearly in medical claims and absenteeism*.

The first webinar of the series will explore the new digital age of mental healthcare, and more specifically, how organizations can leverage technology to address access and the disparity of care for employees coping with chronic pain, depression, and anxiety.  According to a 2021 PMC published study*, people living with chronic pain often work through pain and/or feel pressured into returning to work prematurely. In turn, this can result in increased stress, high physical demands, and job dissatisfaction.
